NORDIC-AFRICAN STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP – NEW DIRECTIONS AND CHANGING POLITICAL WINDS

As new geopolitical landscapes emerge, crises unfold and global challenges evolve, the  political winds are changing and strategic relations between Nordic and African countries are heading in new directions.
At the European level, relations between the European Union and the African continent have witnessed a shift towards a closer partnership of equals based on mutual respect and shared interests. Driven by concerted efforts to advance synergies and enhance strategic collaboration, renewed commitments from European and African leaders have emphasised building stronger economic ties to boost trade and investment; fostering digital transition, green growth and sustainable development; addressing climate and energy concerns; and expanding cooperation on security threats for greater stability and resilience. These commitments are backed by pledges to increasing financial and technical support from the European Union. In Denmark, the Danish government has expressed similar intentions of strengthening strategic collaboration with African partners on diverse issues ranging from export of green technologies and solutions to market development and migration. Likewise, a renewed focus on Africa is reflected in Danish foreign, security and development policies.
Political focus on renewed and strengthened strategic partnerships with African countries will have implications for business. Nordic companies offer capabilities, products and solutions underpinning emerging political priorities and fit for the needs and demands across  industries in Africa. As such, the business potential in Nordic-African strategic collaboration is huge. At this seminar, we explore this potential and showcase how Nordic companies experience the Nordic-African strategic relations in their African business operations.

Seminar

At this seminar, we:
  • Explore key trends, developments, opportunities and challenges related to Nordic-African business operations.
  • Showcase innovative and sustainable Nordic businesses, operating across Africa, and dig into their strategies, business models and external funding.
  • Provide a forum for connecting with like minded companies or potential collaborators, regardless of your current stage of doing business in Africa.
  • Offer all participants an opportunity to meet representatives from the African diplomatic corps in the Nordics.

Practical

Participants are encouraged to share their practical experiences and ideas. Presentations are followed by Q&As and exchanges. During the seminar, we ensure breaks for networking and discussion. Snacks, water, coffee and tea are available throughout the day. A light meal is provided as well.
